The town of Paragon is located in Ray Township approximately seven miles southwest of Martinsville Indiana on State Road 67.

     Founded in 1852, Paragon is a farming community in which a large portion of its working citizens commute daily to their places of employ in the larger neighboring communities of Martinsville, Bloomington, and Indianapolis.

     The last census taken in 1991 reported a total population of 515 residents.
