HIKING TRAILS

All trails are loops, and are marked with white diamond blazes (double blazes indicate a turn ahead), numbered wood posts, or brown plastic posts. Short trails not listed here connect campground and office parking area to hiking trails. Following trail direction arrows reduces crowding.

  3. Pathfinder Orienteering Trail/Course
  4. .6 mile (easy)
    Trailhead south of Scout Ridge Campground
    Obtain course booklet at office, control-point key
    at phone kiosk near Forest Office
  5. Scout Ridge Nature Trail
  6. .5 mile (easy)
    Trailhead behind first shelter house at Scout Ridge Campground
    Information booklet available at trailhead
  7. Three Lakes Trail
  8. 10 miles (rugged)
    Trailheads on road to Cherry Lake Shelter, at
    shelter, and at Brvant Creek Lake Shelter
  9. Mason Ridge Trail
  10. 2.7 miles (moderate)
    Trailheads at Orcutt Road and Landram Ridge on main Forest Road
  11. Rock Shelter Trail
  12. 3 miles (moderate)
    Trailhead at Landram Ridge on Forest Road
    Follows first part of Low Gap Trail
  13. Low Gap--Back Country Trail
  14. 10 miles (rugged)
    Trailheads on main Forest Road at Landram
    Ridge and at parking area on Low Gap Road
    Back Country Area is located east of Low
    Gap Road, camping is permitted here.
