Firewood Cutting Policy
The intention of the firewood cutting program is to provide a supply of wood for
personal use, not resale. The availability of firewood cutting areas and environmental
conditions will determine when firewood permits will be issued.
- Only material completely on the ground may be cut. No standing or leaning trees may be
cut down. Cutting is restricted to the assigned area.
- This property is not responsible for stuck or damaged equipment. We are not permitted to
pull out stuck vehicles.
- Permits will be issued from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. during regular office hours.
Office will be closed on official holidays. We strongly advise calling our office at
(765-342-4026) to check on availability before coming to the property.
- All wood cutters must vacate the area by 3:00 p.m. as the access gates will be locked at
this time.
- A fee of $3.00 per rick (a stack of wood 4'x8'x16") will be charged for permits.
Permits are valid for up to one week and no rain checks or refunds will be given.
- Each person will be limited to 20 ricks per calendar year.
- Failure to follow the above rules will result in the loss of future wood cutting
privileges, loss of cut wood and possible legal action.
- No permits will be issued for less than $3.00.
Office will be closed on official state holidays.
