Mount Eden Baptist Church was built in 1840 on the northwest corner of what is now the intersection of State Road 42 and State Road 142. The original church predated the settlement of "Crossroads", which grew up around it.

The church's name changed over the years but the building remained until it burned down in June 1994 after 154 years. The First Baptist Church was rebuilt in 1995 on the same site.

Fire and police service is provided by the Adams and Ashland Townships Volunteer Fire Department and the Morgan County Sheriff.

Eminence is not an incorporated town at this time. There is no town hall, however the post office is still in service.
