Mount Olivet
Methodist Episcopal Church served Exchange
in the 1870s but no location of the church is given. The pastor was
Gideon Heavenridge and William Cain was Sabbath School
Superintendent. There were 16 members.
Bethel
Wesleyan Church, once the Bethel Wesleyan
Methodist Church, is at 8240 New Harmony Road. It was organized in
1939 and used the old Brown School building. The Wesleyan and Pilgrim
Holiness Churches combined in 1968 and the Methodist was removed from
the name.
New Harmony
Methodist Church was built on ground
donated by George Bailey in 1901. The congregation organized in 1900.
It was on the Waverly, Centenary, and Banta Circuit and employed
ministers that traveled from one church to another. It served the
community until the Methodist officials closed it in 1970. The New
Harmony Community Church took over the building and in 1972 Robert
Cox became minister.
