August 18, 1873 a group gathered at the old Stierwalt house, quite possibly the Stierwalt School, decided to build a church. They asked T.W. Terry to help them elect officers. The church was named The Corinth Baptist Church. The founding members included; Thomas Stierwalt, T.W. Sturgen, William A. Shoemaker (Shumaker), E.N. Voshel, William Dunigan, and Jesse Shoemaker.Thomas Stierwalt donated the land near the old school and the church was dedicated in 1874.

A few years later the church joined the Friendship Association and the church was moved across the road to another piece of Thomas Stierwalt's land. In 1881 the church left the Friendship Association and joined White Lick Association.

By the early twentieth century the church needed so many repairs that a new one was built. James H. Steirwalt donated the land and it was dedicated on December 6, 1903 by Reverend Albert Ogles. In 1963 an addition, which consisted of three rooms upstairs, three rooms downstairs, and a 14-foot extension to the auditorium was completed.

The Corinth Baptist Church still serves Plano and the surrounding area and is on Plano Road south of the store.
