This is the fall fruit of the Cornus kousa tree. The leaf color is starting to show, too.

Red zinnias taken at ground level, not from above. The light comes through the petals and leaves.

Including a focal point such as the bee makes a floral closeup even more interesting.

The use of shadow and light adds tremendous depth to this composition.

This is an example of the use of monochromatic colors. Nice!

This picture is made even better by having the lavender pick up the edge of the butterfly's wing to help the eye move through the whole picture.
