Chapel

Our chapel, open at all times, is located on the main floor just past the double doors leading to the patient rooms (near the cafeteria). Our chaplains are members of the Mooresville Ministerial Association and come from a variety of faiths. Each of our chaplains understands the concerns and apprehensions people may have during their hospital stay and can help you with your spiritual needs. Religious services such as communion are also available. If you would like to speak with a chaplain, just tell your nurse (or complete the request form provided in your room and give it to your nurse) or social worker. They will be happy to help you arrange a visit.

Special Information on the Recovery Room (P.A.C.U.)

Following surgery, patients are escorted to a recovery unit called the P.A.C.U. (Post Anesthesia Care Unit). During their stay in this highly specialized unit, it is important that patients receive a great deal of rest and closely monitored care. Therefore, we ask that you call the P.A.C.U. prior to entering the unit to visit a patient. The phone number for the unit is located on the phone desk in the waiting room. The P.A.C.U. nurses will atlvise you of the appropriate time for your visit, the length of the visit and the number of visitors which the patient may receive. It is for the well-being and privacy of all our patients that we request you observe this policy.

Tips for a Good Visit

Always call before your visit. This gives the patient time to prepare and sometimes freshen up before you arrive. Knock on the patient's door and wait for an invitation before entering. If you would normally shake hands or hug. do so. Warm feelings work wonders for someone in the hospital. They can make you feel better, too! If the person you are visiting feels well enough, check with a nurse to see if the patient is able to take a walk or a ride in a wheelchair. A change of scenery can be refreshing.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Kendrick Memorial Hospital allows individuals of all ages to visit patients. Any extension of visiting hours must he approved by the nurses at the nurses station.
