The classroom is the community itself. Instructors are community leaders, officials, and experts who place important issues into context. Sessions take place at sites related to the day's topic which focus on aspects of community life: human needs, economic foundations, education, government, health, and communication, among others.
JANUARY - Opening Retreat
Get to know each other at this one day retreat at Bradford Woods! Prior to the retreat, you will receive and return a Myers-Briggs personality test. The test results will be provided at the retreat, as well as some fun exercises to better understand how these markers can be used by a leader to build a successful team. There will be team building exercises, please wear comfortable shoes.
FEBRUARY - Social Services Day
Meet local organizations that support the well-being of our county. There will also be a session on fund-raising.
MARCH - Education Day
Meet representatives from the public, parochial, and home school sectors. Learn the challenges educators face today.
APRIL - Government Day
Spend the morning at the State House understanding the impact state government has on our local level. Meet with local officials.
MAY - Personal Leadership Day
This day is all about you! What's your leadership style? Guest speakers discuss the many facets of leadership.
JUNE - History Day
A look back in time with local history experts to understand what brought settlers to Morgan County, how they paved the way for where we are today.
JULY - Safety and Law Enforcement Day
Saluting those who serve to keep us safe. Police, Fire, EMA, utility companies discuss challenges in our ever growing community.
AUGUST - Build Our Economy Day
Spend time with manufacturers, farmers, and small business owners to understand what feeds our economy. Learn how vital economic development and strategic planning is for Morgan County's future.
SEPTEMBER - Diversity Day
Embrace diversity through interaction with Picture This! - an acting group that brings the subtle issues of diversity to life.
OCTOBER - GRADUATION!
Dinner, presentations, and fellowship. Time and place to be announced
