What can you do about Spam? There are a number of ways to filter your e-mail account, but they will never catch every piece of unsolicited e-mail sent to your address, either purposely or randomly. One thing you can do is NOT reply to any unsolicited e-mail, asking to be removed from their list. That only serves to let them know that your e-mail address is valid, and the sender will take that opportunity to add your address to a list of "good" e-mail addresses.
If you receive objectionable or pornographic Spam, you can forward it in its entirety (this MUST include full headers with the originating e-mail address) to abuse@scican.net. DO NOT DELETE THE FORWARDED SPAM E-MAIL. In the event that the full header isn't included, someone from SCICAN will contact you and ask you to resend the offending e-mail, instructing you how to include the header.
"Spam" in e-mail doesn't refer to "ads" or "abuse" or even "objectionable photos or invitations." The term Spam refers to any unsolicited e-mail sent to your e-mail account. CONTENT IS IRRELEVANT.
